A Quiet December
Some great shows came and went but my full-time job was kickin' my arse this month and I took an extended break. Missed Ray LaMontagne (but heard the NPR broadcast), Matisyahu, and Thievery Corp at the 930, Sean Lennon and Thomas Dolby at the Birchmere, and Damien Rice at the newly renovated Lincoln Theatre.
And speaking of missed opportunities, I just heard the godfather of soul passed away this weekend. I never did see James Brown live. I add him to my list of legends I've missed in concert, right up there with John Lee Hooker and, at the other end of the musical spectrum, Joe Strummer.
ClubD will be back on the scene in the new year so stay tuned...
